This is not for general consumption (you have been warned). Here is a recap of the past 11 days (while on the antibiotics):

Thurs 6/26: Took first dosage late tonight with no real side effects. Went to bed 30 minutes after taking the pills and woke up next day with the typical abdominal distress. Burning gut and urges to poop (of course nothing ever really comes out cause I didn’t eat dinner).

Fri 6/27: Morning dosage got me real sick – severe nausea and dizziness, so I had to work from home. Decided to eat something to get rid of the symptoms – chicken soup and rice (plain; no salt). Diarrhea after eating – stool was like shredded wheat (not formed but brown) and watery. Nausea went away after about 3 hours… Lunch time rolled around and after popping a doxycycline, I felt nauseated again so I ate more rice and sweet potato baby food. Went to the bathroom an hour later – pencil thin watery “cat poo”. Dinner, I had chicken and rice with a side of humitin/doxy combo. Before the urge to vomit, I just went to bed.

Sat 6/28: Learning from yesterday’s mistake, I ate chicken noodle soup with rice before the h/d pill. Nausea still kicked in but not as bad. Abdominal aches and eventually semi-solid brown hairy stool but burning (like I ate spicy food – which I haven’t in a long time). Lunch and dinner went by uneventful but pains in abdomen persisted.

Sun 6/29: Ditto to Saturday. Stool today was a combo of shredded wheat and small solid clumps. All brown but some had black spots (indicative of bleeding I suppose). Volume of stool increasing as I am eating more because of the pills (before it was one meal a day, now it is at least 3).

Mon 6/30: Ate the pills before leaving for work with some rice. Felt sick so I just stayed home. Lucky I did, cause I had a big movement. Semi-solid but “hairy” with small black spots. Had two more movements near the end of the day. Both were large continuous brown with black spots poo. Nausea is gone – maybe I am just getting used to it. Otherwise, I am on this chicken noodle with rice and sweet potato regime until further notice.

Tues 7/1: Decided to delay the pills until I got to work. After shower though, I had a big movement (soft, semi-formed) and was worried but headed out the door with pills in pocket anyways. Nausea kicks in at work probably because I ate a small breakfast of plain bread (as opposed to a meal). Stool was soft, brown but burning as usual. Ate rice for lunch and had a stomach ache which I just ignored. Dinner was rice and chicken, after which I popped pills and went to bed.

Wed 7/2: No movement in the morning. Great. Time to see if these diapers really work… luckily aside from cramps, drive to work went well. Still had a bit of urgency but I got to work in time to poo. Solid brown poo. Well-formed but burning. I noticed that after I had a movement, my intestines felt sore. Lunch @ work was just plain rice. Abdominal pains coming and going (as opposed to persistent) after eating. Dinner, no movement after baby food – pears and sweet potato.

Thurs 7/3: No movement again… until the evening. No urgency or abdominal distress for pretty much the whole time at work. There was a pizza party but I resisted – I had to cover my nose cause it smelled heavenly. Only after dinner did I go and it was like solid for the first half and soft serve ice cream for the finale. Stool has taken on an unusual orange/reddish hue. Could be from the sweet potato baby food as it is bright orange – color has to go somewhere eventually, I suppose. No signs of nausea any more from this point on.

Fri 7/4: Movement in the morning. Thin stool. A whole lot of it. I should mention that since taking the antibiotics, I have had no discernable mucus in my poop. Not even a small bit. Abdominal pains are missing this morning after the first movement. After a few minutes, I passed some more thin stools. After lunch, my gut was moving but no urgency. Just a lot of noise. Relaxed today. Slept a lot. Evening I had a large movement – again, continuous brown with black spots.

Sat 7/5: Alternating thin and soft serve stool. Orange/reddish color but not indicative of blood (or at least, I don’t think blood is that color). Afternoon came and went and I had no abdominal pains or urgency at all. Ate some pork and baby food for dinner afterwhich I just popped some pills. Took a nap, woke up around 10PM and went to work (late night server stuff). Getting to and from work was uneventful. After getting home around 3AM, I had one small movement of solid “cat poo” in clumps.

Sun 7/6: Last h/d pill dosage in the morning. Latent abdominal pains are now gone but my gut felt sore after going to the bathroom. Stool is formed but still like soft serve orange. Solid but far from rock hard logs that I used to have. In the evening I passed a lot of medium sized stool before I went to bed… still burned a little.

Mon 7/7: No urgency present. No mucus. No watery diarrhea… Just the (now) normal orange/reddish soft stool with a burn. Abdominal region relatively painless but pressing down on gut (pretty hard) illicits a numb general pain. Had very little movement today but I had some flatulence for the first time in years. One strange thing happened today at work though. I had an allergic response today (itchy eyes) to something… I just couldn’t pin point it.

roses are red, my laundry is blue, whoever’s blue sock this is, i can only say ‘fuck you’.

the joys of community laundry machines in my building. if it isn’t damn pet hair, it’s spending $1.50 to get a brand new set of blue tie-dyed looking socks, boxers, towels and shirts. *sigh* if anything, i am keeping this sock so that whoever owns the other one spends fruitless hours looking for it. hopefully the anguish in their futile search will appease me and my new blue clothing.

now entering the ring… paromomycin and doxycycline.

i must say that for 30 years prior i haven’t taken anything except for the occasional allergy and headache. extending from a previous post, i am amazed how fast one can be rx’d all the letters of the alphabet because of diarrhea. albeit i only have a stupid digestive disorder (and a growing psychosis from incontinence) but seriously… all those people out there who have diseases worse than mine, popping insane amounts of pills, i envy you for your strength.

one has to wonder though, as tupac once said… ‘why am i dying to live, if i’m just living to die’ ? just food for thought.
